Hi all, just a quick note: I finally started regularly reading blogs on my WordPress Reader, and am endeavoring to check out what everyone is doing and like as much as I can! With that in mind, if there’s anyone following me who is writing a fun blog, particularly about science, fiction, or roleplaying, and I’m not following you yet, drop me a comment and let me know! I’ll do my best to follow along.
Time to bring back blogging! … cause social media is kinda terrible these days.
PS also if you have any recommendations please share!

Most of our generation quit blogging. Chad Orzel is still active on Substack. Grrrrlscientist and Rhet Allain and a few others on Medium. Phil Plait still writes regularly. I still read Sandwalk, Dynamic Ecology, SPTD.
Here’s some of the too many blogs I follow if it’s of interest to you – https://rocketcat.productions/2026/07/05/time-for-the-airing-of-grievances/
Thanks — I will take a look!
Is it gauche to drop my own TTRPG blog here? 52 Monsters may or may not be your speed – being focused on a niche ruleset within the OSR, mostly – but I keep it updated pretty regularly. Also on WordPress, I am always entertained by Streets and Spores, where David has been bringing his kids into the world of roleplaying games.
If it doesn’t need to be WordPress, you could do worse than to explore the various blogs via the rootr.ing, which is RPG focused but otherwise pretty broad in style and options.
Not at all — that’s what I was asking for! I think I followed your blog, it sounds interesting to me!
If and when you find some hidden gems out there, it’d be great to read your thoughts!
Tentaclii will clue you in to Lovecraft / pulp activity, while Tolkien Gleanings does the same for Tolkien / mediaeval faery.

What are you looking for in new to you blogs?
As I said, largely books, science, RPGs, and maybe videogames!
